Majuro (breadfruit And Tuna Casserole)
Majuro is a traditional dish from Marshallese cuisine that combines breadfruit and tuna in a delicious casserole. This hearty and flavorful dish is perfect for a family meal or a gathering with friends.
Ingredients
- 2 large breadfruits, peeled and sliced
- 2 cans of tuna, drained
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup coconut milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil the breadfruit slices in salted water for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the tuna, onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, and coconut milk. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer the boiled breadfruit slices in a casserole dish, then pour the tuna mixture over the breadfruit.
- Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
