Ingredients
- 2 lbs lamb, cut into chunks
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups chicken or lamb broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the lamb over medium-high heat.
- Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Stir in the tomatoes, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, turmeric, and cayenne pepper.
- Pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours.
