Makhani Murgh Nachos (butter Chicken Nachos)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or coconut milk for dairy-free option)
  • 1 bag of tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt. Add the chicken pieces and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until the chicken is no longer pink.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream (or coconut milk) and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the tortilla chips on a baking sheet.
  7. Spoon the butter chicken mixture over the chips and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped cilantro.
  10. Serve the Makhani Murgh Nachos hot and enjoy!
