Ingredients

  • 500g mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes. Then, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, ground coriander, ground cumin, and salt. Cook for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and shrink in size.
  5. Whisk together the yogurt and heavy cream, then pour it into the mushroom mixture. Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
