Maklouba (tunisian Spiced Roasted Red Pepper Dip)
Maklouba is a popular Tunisian spiced roasted red pepper dip that is bursting with flavor. It's the perfect appetizer or snack to serve at gatherings or enjoy as a flavorful spread.
Ingredients
- 3 large red bell peppers, roasted and peeled
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the roasted red peppers, ground cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve with pita bread or vegetable sticks.
