Malabar Spinach with Shrimp (Pui Shak Chingri) is a traditional Sylheti dish that combines the earthy flavors of Malabar spinach with the succulent taste of shrimp, creating a delightful and nutritious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Malabar spinach, washed and chopped
- 1 lb medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2-3 green chilies, sliced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add turmeric, cumin, and coriander powder. Stir well.
- Add the chopped Malabar spinach and cook until wilted.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 5-7 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
- Season with salt and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
