Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the water and knead the dough until smooth. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle.
  3. Spread a portion of the softened butter over the rolled-out dough, then fold it into a square, trapping the butter inside. Repeat with the remaining dough and butter.
