Malawach Munchies
Malawach Munchies is a popular Israeli dish that is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a snack. It consists of flaky, layered flatbread that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, typically served with a variety of toppings and dips.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup cold water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the water and knead the dough until smooth. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each into a ball.
- On a floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle.
- Spread a portion of the softened butter over the rolled-out dough, then fold it into a square, trapping the butter inside. Repeat with the remaining dough and butter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each square of dough until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
