Ingredients

  • 500g all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 150g honey
  • 100g ground almonds
  • 1 tsp grated lemon zest

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and milk.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. While the rings are baking, heat the honey in a saucepan until it becomes runny. Stir in the ground almonds and lemon zest.
  6. Remove the rings from the oven and immediately dip them into the honey mixture, coating them completely. Allow the excess honey to drip off before placing them on a wire rack to cool.
