Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 150g unsalted butter, softened
- 150g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- 150g honey
- 100g ground almonds
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and milk.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the rings are baking, heat the honey in a saucepan until it becomes runny. Stir in the ground almonds and lemon zest.
- Remove the rings from the oven and immediately dip them into the honey mixture, coating them completely. Allow the excess honey to drip off before placing them on a wire rack to cool.
