Malvani Prawn Kombdi Vade
Malvani Prawn Kombdi Vade is a traditional dish from the Malvani cuisine, known for its rich and spicy flavors. This dish combines succulent prawns with the unique flavors of Malvani masala, served with crispy and fluffy vade.
Ingredients
- 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Malvani masala
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup urad dal
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the prawns with Malvani masala and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the marinated prawns and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Add grated coconut, green chilies, and coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix rice flour, urad dal, cumin seeds, and salt. Add water to make a thick batter.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
- Dip your fingers in water and take a portion of the batter, flatten it on your palm, and make a hole in the center to form a vada shape.
- Gently slide the vade into the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy.
- Serve the hot and spicy prawns with the crispy vade.
