Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp Malvani masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
  2. Add the grated coconut and sauté until it turns golden and aromatic.
  3. Now, add the ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Add the tomato puree, Malvani masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
  5. Add the prawns and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are done.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice and Malvani bhakri.
