Malvani Style Crab Curry
Malvani Style Crab Curry is a traditional dish from the Malvani cuisine, known for its rich and aromatic flavors. This spicy and tangy curry is made with fresh crab and a blend of authentic Malvani spices, making it a perfect dish for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 kg fresh crab, cleaned and washed
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, pureed
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup Malvani masala
- 1/4 cup tamarind pulp
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- 1-inch ginger
- 4-5 dry red chilies
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Grind the grated coconut, garlic, ginger, and dry red chilies to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Add the ground coconut paste, Malvani masala, turmeric powder, and tamarind pulp. Cook for a few minutes.
- Add the cleaned crab, salt, and water. Cover and cook until the crab is done.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
