Malvani Style Crab Fry
Malvani Style Crab Fry is a delicious and spicy seafood dish from the Malvani cuisine of the Konkan region in Maharashtra, India. This recipe brings out the rich and aromatic flavors of Malvani spices, making it a perfect dish for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 500g fresh crab, cleaned and cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Malvani masala
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
- Now, add the Malvani masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Add the cleaned crab pieces and mix gently to coat them with the masala.
- Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the crab is cooked through.
- Once the crab is cooked, add the grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Malvani Style Crab Fry is ready to be served hot with steamed rice or Malvani bhakri.
