Malvani Style Crab Masala

Ingredients
- 500g fresh crab, cleaned and washed
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tbsp Malvani masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add the grated coconut and sauté until it turns golden in color.
- Add the ginger, garlic, and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the tomato puree, Malvani masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook the masala until the oil separates.
- Add the cleaned crab to the masala and mix well to coat the crab with the spices.
- Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let the crab cook for about 15-20 minutes on medium heat.
- Once the crab is cooked and the masala has thickened, garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve the Malvani Style Crab Masala hot with steamed rice or Malvani bhakri.
