Malvani Style Crab Pulao

Ingredients

  • 500g crab meat
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Malvani masala
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • 2-3 cups water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  4. Add the Malvani masala and sauté for a few minutes.
  5. Add the crab meat and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Mix well.
  7. Pour in the coconut milk and water. Season with salt.
  8. Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  9. Fluff the pulao with a fork and serve hot.
