Malvani Style Crab Pulao
Malvani Style Crab Pulao is a delicious and aromatic rice dish from the Malvani cuisine, known for its bold flavors and rich spices. This recipe combines succulent crab meat with fragrant rice and a blend of traditional Malvani spices, creating a mouthwatering one-pot meal.
Ingredients
- 500g crab meat
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/4 cup Malvani masala
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- 2-3 cups water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the Malvani masala and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the crab meat and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Mix well.
- Pour in the coconut milk and water. Season with salt.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the pulao with a fork and serve hot.
