Malvani Style Fish Kheema
Malvani Style Fish Kheema is a delicious and flavorful dish from the Malvani cuisine, known for its bold and aromatic flavors. This dish is made with minced fish cooked in a rich and spicy coconut-based gravy, perfect to be enjoyed with steamed rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 500g minced fish
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tbsp Malvani masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and Malvani masala. Cook until the oil separates.
- Add the minced fish and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Add grated coconut and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Pour water as needed to adjust the consistency of the gravy.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
