Malvani Style Fish Pulao
Malvani Style Fish Pulao is a delicious and aromatic rice dish from the Malvani cuisine, known for its bold flavors and use of coconut and spices.
Ingredients
- 500g fish, cut into pieces
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the fish pieces and cook for 5 minutes.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Sauté for 2 minutes.
- Pour in the coconut milk and 3 cups of water. Season with salt.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is done and the fish is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
