Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 pound beef, cut into chunks
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons mandi spice mix
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onions and garlic until golden.
  3. Add the beef chunks and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the mandi spice mix and cook for a few minutes to release the flavors.
  5. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot, stirring to coat the rice with the spices.
  6. Pour in the water, add salt, and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let the rice and beef simmer for 20-25 minutes until the rice is cooked and the beef is tender.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
