Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1.5 lbs beef, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp mandi spice mix
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 10 dates, pitted
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onions and garlic until golden.
- Add the beef chunks and brown them on all sides.
- Stir in the mandi spice mix and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the soaked rice, dates, and water to the pot. Season with salt, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked and the beef is tender, remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
