Mandu Dumplings (만두)
만두 (Mandu) are Korean dumplings that are typically filled with a mixture of meat, vegetables, and seasonings. They can be steamed, boiled, pan-fried, or deep-fried, and are enjoyed as a popular appetizer or main dish in Korean cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat the edges to seal the dumplings.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
- Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add water to the skillet, cover, and steam the dumplings until the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the dumplings with dipping sauce and enjoy!
