Mandu Gyoza Dumplings (만두)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 package round dumpling wrappers
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over the filling, and press to seal.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer and cook until the bottoms are golden brown.
  4. Pour water into the skillet and cover. Allow the dumplings to steam until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
  5. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
