Mandu Gyoza Dumplings (만두)
만두 (Mandu) are Korean dumplings that are typically filled with a mixture of meat and vegetables. They can be steamed, boiled, pan-fried, or deep-fried, and are enjoyed as a popular appetizer or snack in Korean cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package round dumpling wrappers
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over the filling, and press to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer and cook until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Pour water into the skillet and cover. Allow the dumplings to steam until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce.
