Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package dumpling wrappers
  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon sumac

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place a small amount of the lamb mixture onto each dumpling wrapper, then fold and seal the edges to form dumplings.
  3. Boil the dumplings in a large pot of water until they float to the surface, then drain.
  4. Meanwhile, mix the yogurt with a pinch of salt and spread it on a serving platter.
  5. Place the cooked dumplings on top of the yogurt.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the dried mint and sumac. Drizzle this spiced butter over the dumplings.
