Manti (savory Tajik Dumplings)
Manti are savory Tajik dumplings filled with spiced meat and steamed to perfection. They are a popular dish in Tajik cuisine and are often enjoyed with yogurt or a tomato-based sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground meat, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place a small amount of the meat mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the filled dumplings in a steamer basket and steam for 30-35 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through.
