Manti are spiced beef dumplings that are a staple in Uzbek cuisine. These delicious dumplings are filled with seasoned ground beef and steamed to perfection, making them a comforting and satisfying dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place a small amount of the beef mixture onto each dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling and pinch the edges to seal, creating a small pouch.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the filled dumplings in the skillet and cook until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Pour the water into the skillet and cover with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 15-20 minutes, or until the beef is fully cooked.
- Remove the dumplings from the skillet and serve hot.
