Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, and sesame oil.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then place them in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through.
  5. Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken and toss to coat.
  7. Serve the Maple Sesame Chicken over steamed rice or with your favorite vegetables.
