Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 10 shallots
- 5 cloves garlic
- 5 red chilies
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 lemongrass stalks, white part only, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Grind shallots, garlic, red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder into a smooth paste.
- Marinate the beef slices with the spice paste, lemongrass, sweet soy sauce, vegetable oil, and salt. Let it sit for at least 1 hour.
- Thread the marinated beef onto skewers.
- Grill the satay over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Serve the Maranggi Satay hot with steamed rice and a side of fresh cucumber and tomato salad.
