Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups mixed berries (such as blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch tart pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg and vanilla extract. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough into the prepared tart pan, covering the bottom and sides. Set aside.
- In another bowl, toss the berries with sugar and cornstarch. Pour the berry mixture into the tart crust.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the berries are bubbling.
