Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, egg, water, and salt to make the pancake batter. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add the ground chicken, curry powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Divide the pancake batter into 4 portions. Heat a non-stick pan and pour one portion of the batter, spreading it thinly to cover the pan.
- Once the pancake is set, spread a portion of the cooked chicken mixture on one half of the pancake.
- Pour a portion of the beaten eggs over the chicken mixture. Fold the other half of the pancake over the filling to form a half-moon shape.
- Cook the martabak on both sides until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter and filling.
- Slice the martabak into wedges and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
