Mas Havaadhu (tuna Stir-fry)

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh tuna, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 green chili, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili. Sauté for a few minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add turmeric, chili, cumin, and coriander powders. Stir well to combine.
  5. Add the cubed tuna and cook for 5-7 minutes until the tuna is cooked through.
  6. Add freshly grated coconut and mix well with the tuna.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
