Mas Kulhi Curry (tuna And Coconut Curry)
Mas Kulhi Curry, also known as Tuna and Coconut Curry, is a traditional dish from Maldivian cuisine. This flavorful curry is made with tuna, coconut milk, and a blend of aromatic spices, creating a rich and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 500g fresh tuna, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 can (400ml) coconut milk
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 green chili, sliced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add turmeric powder, chili powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Stir well to combine with the onion mixture.
- Add the diced tomatoes and green chili. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture is fragrant.
- Add the cubed tuna to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Simmer the curry for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the tuna to cook through.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
