Mas Kulhi Pasta (tuna And Coconut Pasta)
Mas Kulhi Pasta, also known as Tuna and Coconut Pasta, is a popular dish in Maldivian cuisine. This creamy and flavorful pasta is a perfect blend of local Maldivian ingredients with a touch of Italian influence.
Ingredients
- 200g pasta
- 1 can (170g) tuna, drained
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and green chili. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the diced tomato, curry powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
- Stir in the drained tuna and coconut milk. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss to coat it with the tuna and coconut sauce.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
