Mas Rihaakuru Sambol (tuna Sambol)
Mas Rihaakuru Sambol, also known as Tuna Sambol, is a traditional dish from the Maldives that is bursting with flavors of the Indian Ocean. This spicy and savory tuna sambol is perfect for adding a kick to your meal and is typically served with rice or roshi (Maldivian flatbread).
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna, drained
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup rihaakuru (Maldivian fish paste)
- 1 lime, juiced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, chopped onion, green chilies, tomato, and grated coconut.
- Add the rihaakuru and lime juice to the bowl and mix well.
- Season with salt to taste and mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add the tuna mixture. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sambol is heated through.
- Remove from heat and serve the mas rihaakuru sambol with rice or roshi.
