Ingredients

  • 4 fillets of fresh fish
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 green chili, sliced
  • 1 sprig of curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the tomatoes, green chili, and curry leaves. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  4. Stir in the turmeric powder and chili powder.
  5. Add the fish fillets and gently mix with the spices and vegetables.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
  7. Serve the Mas Rihaakuru Stew hot with steamed rice or crusty bread.
