Masaledar Gosht Karahi (spicy Mutton Karahi)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a karahi or deep pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Add mutton pieces and cook until they are browned.
  5. Stir in chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil separates.
  6. Add garam masala and mix well.
  7. Cover and cook on low heat until the mutton is tender.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
