Masaledar Murgh Curry (spicy Chicken Curry)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, yogurt, and all the spices. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Pour in water and simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken is tender and the curry has thickened.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
