Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of fish (preferably Rohu or Catla)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash the fish pieces. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to make a marinade.
  3. Coat the fish pieces with the marinade and let them sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Gently place the marinated fish pieces in the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  6. Remove the fried fish from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice and dal.
