Matar Bhorta (stuffed Mushroom Caps)
Matar Bhorta, also known as Stuffed Mushroom Caps, is a popular Bangladeshi appetizer that is bursting with flavor. These savory stuffed mushroom caps are filled with a delicious mixture of spiced peas and are perfect for entertaining or as a tasty snack.
Ingredients
- 12 large mushroom caps
- 1 cup boiled green peas
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Remove the stems from the mushroom caps and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion, green chilies, ginger paste, and garlic paste until the onions are translucent.
- Add the boiled green peas, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the spiced peas mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle the stuffed mushroom caps with the remaining oil and bake for 15 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.
- Serve the Matar Bhorta hot and enjoy!
