Matar Bhorta (stuffed Mushroom Caps)

Ingredients

  • 12 large mushroom caps
  • 1 cup boiled green peas
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the stems from the mushroom caps and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion, green chilies, ginger paste, and garlic paste until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the boiled green peas, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Stuff each mushroom cap with the spiced peas mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Drizzle the stuffed mushroom caps with the remaining oil and bake for 15 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.
  7. Serve the Matar Bhorta hot and enjoy!
