Ingredients

  • 1 liter full-fat milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
  2. Once the milk reduces to half its original quantity, add the sugar and cardamom powder. Continue to cook, stirring frequently.
  3. When the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan, add the ghee and mix well.
  4. Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  5. Grease your hands with ghee and shape the mixture into small round pedas.
  6. Place the pedas on a plate and let them cool completely before serving.
