Mauritian Beef Stir-fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add more oil if needed and sauté the garlic, onion, bell pepper, and broccoli until they are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the wok, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot.
