Ingredients

  • 500g fresh fish fillets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Gently place the fish fillets into the pan, spooning the tomato mixture over the fish. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or crusty bread.
