Ingredients

  • 1 raw mango, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chopped raw mango, grated coconut, green chilies, mustard seeds, asafoetida, and salt.
  2. Add a little water and blend to a smooth paste.
  3. Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.
  4. For the tempering, heat a small amount of oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, pour the tempering over the chutney.
  5. Stir well and serve the Mavinkai Chutney with your favorite dish.
