Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed lentils
  • 500g beef or mutton, cubed
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup ghee or oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 flatbreads or parathas
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Sliced green chilies for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash the lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, heat the ghee or oil and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the meat and ginger-garlic paste, and cook until the meat changes color.
  4. Stir in the tomatoes, spices, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Add the soaked lentils and enough water to cover the mixture. Cook on low heat until the lentils and meat are tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the mixture is thick and the lentils are completely cooked, sprinkle garam masala and mix well.
  7. Warm the flatbreads or parathas and place a generous amount of the meat and lentil mixture in the center.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and sliced green chilies, then roll up the flatbread to form a wrap.
