Meat Flatbread (turkish Lahmacun)
Meat Flatbread, also known as Turkish Lahmacun, is a delicious and savory dish that is a staple in West Asian cuisine. This thin and crispy flatbread is topped with a flavorful mixture of minced meat, vegetables, and spices, making it a perfect meal or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pieces of flatbread or pita bread
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground meat, onion, tomatoes, parsley, garlic, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions.
- Spread each portion of the meat mixture evenly onto a piece of flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place the prepared flatbreads in the pan, one at a time.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes until the meat is cooked and the flatbread is crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining flatbreads.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
