Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 package of puff pastry sheets
  • 1 kg turnips, peeled and chopped
  • 1.5 liters water
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped onions, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheets into squares and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each square. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle and seal the edges.
  3. Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile, in a large pot, bring the water to a boil and add the chopped turnips. Cook for 20 minutes or until the turnips are soft.
  5. Remove the turnips from the pot and place them in a blender. Add the vinegar and blend until smooth.
  6. Strain the turnip juice into a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. Serve the hot meat pastries with a glass of cold turnip juice.
