Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  3. Season the meat with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried oregano. Stir well to combine.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Layer the phyllo dough sheets, brushing each sheet with melted butter as you layer them.
  6. Spoon the seasoned meat mixture onto the layered phyllo dough.
  7. Roll the phyllo dough to encase the meat, creating a log shape.
  8. Place the rolled meat pie on a baking sheet and brush the top with melted butter.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
