Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Season the meat with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried oregano. Stir well to combine.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer the phyllo dough sheets, brushing each sheet with melted butter as you layer them.
- Spoon the seasoned meat mixture onto the layered phyllo dough.
- Roll the phyllo dough to encase the meat, creating a log shape.
- Place the rolled meat pie on a baking sheet and brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
