Meat Stew (bulgarian Kavarma)
This Meat Stew, also known as Bulgarian Kavarma, is a hearty and flavorful dish that is a staple in Eastern European cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork, cubed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the pork cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped onion and sliced bell pepper, and cook until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, white wine, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the pot and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender.
- Serve the Bulgarian Kavarma hot, with crusty bread or over rice.
