Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb or beef, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the meat cubes to the pot and brown them on all sides.
  5. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour in the water and bring the stew to a boil.
  7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the stew simmer for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  8. Adjust the seasoning if needed and serve the meat stew hot.
