  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the crushed tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet, spooning the tomato sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Serve the meatballs in tomato sauce hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
