Ingredients

  • 500g fish (pomfret or kingfish), cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste, rice flour, lemon juice, and salt to form a smooth paste.
  2. Apply the masala paste to the fish pieces, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated fish pieces in the pan.
  4. Fry the fish until golden brown and crispy on both sides, turning once or twice to ensure even cooking.
  5. Once done, remove the fish from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the Meen Fry hot with sliced onions, lemon wedges, and your favorite chutney.
