Ingredients
- 500g fish (preferably kingfish or mackerel), cleaned and cut into pieces
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until they turn golden brown.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
- Grind the grated coconut, turmeric powder, and tamarind paste into a fine paste.
- Add the ground paste to the pan and cook for a few minutes.
- Add the fish pieces, salt, and water as needed. Simmer until the fish is cooked and the curry thickens.
- Meen Pulimunchi is ready to be served hot with steamed rice.
