Meen Tikka (fish Tikka)
Meen Tikka, also known as Fish Tikka, is a popular dish in Mangalurean Catholic Cuisine. This flavorful and aromatic dish is perfect for seafood lovers and is a great addition to any meal.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless fish fillets, cut into cubes
- 1 cup thick yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion, cut into rings
- 1 bell pepper, cut into cubes
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt to make the marinade.
- Add the fish cubes to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Let it marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Thread the marinated fish cubes onto skewers, alternating with onion rings and bell pepper cubes.
- Cook the fish skewers on the stovetop, turning occasionally, until the fish is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.
- Serve hot with a side of mint chutney and lemon wedges.
